A manufacturing company that designs, develops, and produces industrial plastic blow molded products is searching for a Maintenance Engineer. The Maintenance Engineer provides; technical guidance and diagnostic capabilities to maximize production up-time on all plant machinery and equipment, interprets maintenance and reliability data by evaluating the data history, ensures the uninterrupted efficiency of production and plant operations, and manages and works on maintenance projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

•Completes mechanical repairs and maintenance of machinery and building

•Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun.

•Completes preventative maintenance on various equipment (e.g., blow molding machines).

•Maintains physical structure of establishment, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.

•Maintains records of maintenance completed on machines.

•Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.

•Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction to diagnose problem or repair machine.

•Dismantles defective machines (e.g., blow molding machine) and installs new or repaired parts (e.g., hydraulic valves), following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.

 Inspect, operate and test accumulator head blow machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions, including:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in blow molded plastic products, applying knowledge of molding machine setup and operating techniques and production machining methods: Reading operating logs to identify inoperative blow molding machines, determines reasons for machine malfunction, and arranges for machine repair.

This current Blow Molding Maintenance Manager is retiring so this is a replacement position.  This is a hands-on position that requires plastic extrusion blow molding and auxiliary equipment experience.
