Plant Manager – York, PA

A small company with a unique innovative plastic resin compounding technology that has tremendous market potential is searching for a Plant Manager. The company is a leader in the development of engineering grade compounds, based on sustainable (recycled) feed streams, and they want to hire an energetic individual with a passion for manufacturing newly developed products to lead a small but hard working and dedicated team. The Plant Manager position is new and reports to the company President, providing a unique opportunity to be a key leader in a rapidly growing business.


  • Twin screw extrusion experience including; feeders, blenders, driers, grinders, chillers and pelletizers.
  • Ability to manage and train manufacturing employees.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a production team in a compounding operation.
  • Ability to communicate with, train, and motivate manufacturing employees.
  • Ability to implement effective standard operating procedures and a quality system.
  • Ability to organize and oversee maintenance and trouble shooting of equipment, as well as, purchasing and installing of new equipment.
  • A four year technical degree would be a real plus.

In addition to an annual salary in the $90,000 to $110,000 range the company offers very competitive benefits and relocation assistance.

Application Development Engineer – Detroit, MI

An automotive plastic resin compounding company specializing in supplying polyolefin resins to the automotive industry is searching for an Application Development Engineer to support the OEM automotive account team.  This is a newly created opening, special training and coaching will be provided in the start-up phase.

The Application Development Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Implementing the marketing strategy for a defined OEM group; GM, Ford and Fiat/Chrysler.
  • Accountability for al European and Japanese landed OEM’s in US focused on VW-Daimler-Renault and Nissan.
  • Driving automotive Masterbatched polyolefin resins for Tier 1 automotive suppliers.
  • Developing an OEM market fact base.
  • Developing an OEM and Strategic partnerships.
  • Setting targets and accomplishing actions.
  • Driving launch of new products/solutions in the OEM market.
  • Driving for OEM project portfolios and driving for successful implementation.

In addition to an annual salary in the $100,000 to $130,000 range the company offers; an annual bonus, very competitive benefits including a 401k with matching, and relocation assistance.

Education, Experience and People Skill requirements:

  • Technical four year degree.
  • Ten plus yeas of relevant experience in sales, technical service, product and market development of Polyolefin compounded resins.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills.


Flexible PVC Product Development – Saginaw, MI


A major manufacturer of flexible PVC roofing membranes is searching for a Flexible PVC Formulator.  The Flexible PVC Formulator must have experience developing and performing long term testing protocols for flexible PVC in outdoor environments and have experience and experience in calendaring and/or extruding operations.  The Flexible PVC Formulator will be responsible for:

  • Flexible PVC formulation for new product development initiatives
  • Qualifying alternate raw materials for existing PVC products
  • Directing the work of R&D analysts on new product development
  • Providing technical support to manufacturing operations specifically to mixing PVC formulations
  • Evaluating long term performance of existing roofing products and recommending improved formulations
  • Willing to become the company’s PVC formulation expert with no internal resources to assist in meeting PVC formulation challenges.

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering – Mininum.  Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry related field would be preferred.

Resin Product Developer – Charlotte, NC

A leading provider of innovative solutions in the field of polyolefin compounded resins used in the manufacture of automotive plastic parts and components is searching for a Product Developer.

The Product Developer will be a resin compounding professional with command of diverse practices in applications and complex concepts and principles in Automotive product design and end use performance. This knowledge is acquired through deep and/or broad experience typically combined with an academic/ professional qualification. This person is well recognized within the industry as expert in the given application and technology field. Executing product management activities for defined portfolio/segment.

The primary purpose of the Product Developer is to secure and support running business, and build upon current automotive portfolio based on TPO’s.  The following experience is required:

  • Expertise in mineral / short glass fiber filled polyolefin compounds for Interior and Exterior automotive application.  Well versed with thermoplastic resins and their formulations, including high performance engineering resins, TPE, TPOs, functional additives, stabilizers packages, flow enhancing additives, pigments and mineral based fillers
  • Understanding of OEM specifications and approval processes
  • Expertise in liaising with cross-functional teams, production/QA, marketing/sales for diversification of existing portfolio, cost reduction efforts, competitive use of emerging technologies and resolving internal or customer-end issues and concerns
  • Understanding of all the elements of commercial product development including scale up, production scale compounding, formulation & grade development, materials management, etc.
  • Ability to optimize Cost & Complexity of defined product portfolio and define improvement actions
  • Setting the general quality standards for commercial products.
  • Capable to provide technical support in customer and supplier Quality audits
  • Capable to provide technical expertise internally, e.g., for trouble shooting in production, value chain marketing projects, as well as for external presentations and industrial state-of-the-art training of internal engineers.
  • Ability to lead technical investigation and decide on justification of product claims
  • Expertise in identification and implementation of incremental product modifications to improve product performance, reduce product cost, improve product quality or change asset source
