Maintenance Technician – Wall Township, NJ

A company manufacturing custom plastic injection molded; medical, optical, electronic, and other electro-mechanical plastic parts wants to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain plastic injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment and support mold maintenance.

Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities include:

Ensuring all work is carried out safely and without injury.
Executing corrective actions for non-conformance related to production equipment and plant utilities.
Performing Electro/Mechanical trouble shooting.
Providing support to the maintenance/tooling department as required.
Coordinating contractor support as necessary.
Performing maintenance and repairs on the following equipment: Injection molding machines, molds, downstream support equipment, and plant utilities.

Requisite Skills:

Competent in several of the following areas: windows based programs, blueprint reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical principles, basic plumbing and welding.
General electrical code, PLC, electrical controls.
Ability to operate machine shop equipment and metal fabrication equipment.

Education:

Technical college diploma in related field or Industrial Trade License is preferred but a High School Graduate with the requisite skills will be considered.

Job Type: Full-time days

Maintenance Supervisor – Lincoln, NE

A custom plastic injection molding is searching for a Hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead the plant maintenance department. The Maintenance Supervisorreports to the Plant Manager and must have the proven ability to meet and/or achieve the following requirements:

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Leading maintenance/tooling technicians and directs all related personnel actions including; ensuring that all work undertaken or supervised is carried out safely and without injuries.
  • Initiating corrective action for non-conformances related to equipment and plant utilities
  • Managing, optimizing and maintaining injection molding machines, downstream equipment and plant utilities to peak production levels to including defining effective inventory of spare parts
  • Providing safety analysis of new & modified equipment/system
  • Inputting new equipment into a Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program and leading and performing the preventive maintenance.
  • Assisting in design/sourcing equipment and methods of manufacturing based on customer and plant need
  • Developing and maintaining a Preventive Maintenance program for all production equipment, plant utilities and injection molding equipment
  • Leading maintenance activities in a manner that achieves the plant’s goals
  • Approving, sourcing and purchasing spare parts within the departments’ fiscal budget
  • Optimizing manufacturing systems and plant infrastructure
  • Advising and supporting the plant staff on mechanical, electrical, process and correcting customer issues

Education

·       Technical College Degree, Technical school graduate, or a High School Diploma with equivalent hands-on manufacturing management or supervisory experience

Skills

Plastic Mold Maintenance Technicians – Mebane, NC

A company manufacturing consumer plastic packaging products is searching for a Plastic Mold Maintenance Technicians to polish, maintain and repair plastic molds. Currently, an opening exists on each of the three shifts.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Include:
•Performing mold repair work on cavities and cores due to damage or wear.
•Noting any changes to molds, inserts, parts, etc.
•Documenting work and keep accurate records.Dissembling and assembling molds, analyzing and solving basic mold problems including flashing conditions, galling, venting, cooling problems, etc.
•Assembling, repairing, inspecting, cleaning and polishing molds using skill and care while handling and polishing critical surfaces.Laying out, fabricating and assembling metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specification.
•Using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, electrical discharge machines, surface and cylindrical grinders.
•Interpreting drawings, evaluating machining methods on assignments and occasionally instructing other toolmakers and apprentices in the operation and setup of tool room equipment.
•Computing dimensions; determining machining and material or parts required. Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Solving problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production processes.

Must be fully capable to work on robots, program robots and program PLC’s and work with trainees, as required.

Automation Technician Responsibilities Include:

  • Training process trainees as required.

Sr. Tooling Engineer – Chicago, IL

Description

A privately-held, international consumer products company, specializing in the design, marketing and manufacturing of high quality, innovative housewares products is searching for a Senior Tooling Engineer.

The Senior Tooling Engineer reports to the Director of Operations and is part of the senior management team for the plant. The Senior Tooling Engineer will lead the activities of tool room employees, contractors or vendors and be responsible for all tool building activities, maintenance and repair. The Sr. Tooling Engineer will also be responsible for customer molding (sample) trials delivering solutions on-time, on budget and in accordance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tool room and inventory of tools and third party production locations.
  • Develop and maintain mold standards and mold documentation.
  • Develop and approve tooling suppliers, new mold designs or modifications, molding processes and metrology.
  • Manage mold construction, mold design review, process design, quality assurance and assembly process. Works with customer blueprints / specifications to generate design and cost feedback.
  • Ensure all product quality attributes are met and all quality systems are supported.
  • Perform analysis on customer returns to determine root cause of failures or complaints.
  • Assist in developing scientific molding expertise of organization through training of manufacturing management, process technicians and manufacturing associates.
  • Implements process control techniques and procedures, trouble shoots and advises on injection molding processes and tooling.
  • Key member of plant safety committee driving implementation of safety system.
  • Co-develop budget, capital requests, and cost improvement planning.
  • Support manufacturing management in lean / continuous improvement activities.

 Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mold making or tool molding environment managing tooling, mold design, mold troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.
  • Understanding of CNC cutting processes and injection molding processes.
  • Project management skills and training.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills. Able to analyze and solve complex technical issues related to equipment, injection molds, process and product quality.
  • Proficient with CAD.
