Lead Thermoforming Process Technician – Providence, RI

A major player in the thermoformed colored plate, bowl and cup market is searching for a Lead Thermoforming Process Technician.  In addition to leading a night shift, the Lead Process Technician must be capable of trouble shooting in-line thermoforming machines, correcting, and starting-up new processes.  Hands-on experience is a must along with 6 years plus experience processing with Brown or similar thermoforming equipment.

Starting hourly rate for the Lead Thermoforming Process Technician position is based on experience with a target range between $28 and $30 per hour plus overtime.

This is a 12 hour night shift, Monday through Thursday, with optional Friday additional paid overtime.  The company also offers a competitive benefit package, relocation assistance, and bonus potential.

Lead Thermoforming Process Technician Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of hands-on thermoforming operating experience.
  • Experience with thermoforming equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot mechanical issues.
  • Ability to make repairs on small labeling machines would be a plus.
  • Ability to repair Renco machines would also be a plus.
  • High School or equivalent diploma.

Thermoforming Technician – Wilkes-Barre, PA

A leading Plastics manufacturer looking for Inline Thermoforming Technician for a 12 hour rotating shift night position.  The  Thermoforming Technician will provide Extrusion & Thermoforming technical capability within the Inline department, with regards process optimization, product specifications and technical decision making.  The Thermoforming Technician will also be responsible for;

  • Following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Setting-up new operating procedures as required for future department development.
  • Technical set up of machines to run at optimum speed, as per GPC benchmarks, including machine speed increases if required.
  • Completing parts changeovers as per production schedule and in accordance with established procedures and time frames and assist with tool changeovers.
  • Providing support to ensure machine efficiency targets are achieved (trouble-shooting).
  • Assisting with management of machine downtime, including breakdown & maintenance.
  • Preparing and checking changeover trolleys, and ensuring components are ready prior to tool change.
  • Ensuring all products conform to required quality standards, product quality optimization.
  • Minimizing waste & scrap and record relevant data.


  • Strong technical capability, evidenced by a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar Process Technician role and experience in Plastics/Extrusion/Thermoforming.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills Technical and Mechanical background experience.
  • Transfer of knowledge through training of others.

Plastic Processing Technician-Milwaukee, WI

Job Description

A growing custom thermoforming company wants to hire a Plastic Processing Technician or Engineer to facilitate new forming project launches and sampling, as well as continuous improvements in forming processes and procedures, such as:

  • Reviewing scheduled jobs in the department on a daily basis to assure we have required materials and tooling ready for production.
  • Managing Forming Sample Process and handles all documentation resulting from it.
  • Reviewing rates on all orders to assure they are in line with expected run times and records Standards in E2 system.
  • Assuring that set-up sheet instructions are clear and updated whenever changes are being made.
  • Actively encouraging employee engagement and process ownership through clarifying goals, continuous communication, individual appreciation and actively listening to employee suggestions.
  • Assuring Department 5S and organization are implemented and sustained.
  • Participating in and performs Kaizen events.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting any forming issues.
  • Setting-up new jobs and preparing process instructions for new set-ups and trials.
  • Assisting in the training and development of forming personnel.
  • Supporting and implements quality initiatives.
  • Performing analysis to identify root causes and implement solutions per ISO 9001 and 14001 program requirements.
  • Developing and implements TPM Processes making machines visual.
  • Performing set-up improvements and scrap reduction actions.
  • Assisting in Tooling improvements.
  • Responsible for improving Department OEE and $/labor hour.
  • Developing Forming Process Management Systems and Standards (SPC).
  • Following all safety procedures to create a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Implementing 5S and Lean Manufacturing (OPEX) initiatives already in place in the Forming department.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Technical or Plastics Degree preferred.
  • Significant thermoforming or injection molding plastic molding equipment set-up and forming experience. 


Mathematical& Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
