Plastic Mold Maintenance Technician – Atlanta, Ga

A company manufacturing consumer plastic packaging products is searching for a Plastic Mold Maintenance Technician  to polish, maintain and repair plastic molds on second shift (1PM – 9PM).

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing mold repair work on cavities and cores due to damage or wear.
  • Noting any changes to molds, inserts, parts, etc.
  • Documenting work and keep accurate records.Dissembling and assembling molds, analyzing and solving basic mold problems including flashing conditions, galling, venting, cooling problems, etc.
  • Assembling, repairing, inspecting, cleaning and polishing molds using skill and care while handling and polishing critical surfaces.Laying out, fabricating and assembling metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specification.
  • Using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, electrical discharge machines, surface and cylindrical grinders.
  • Interpreting drawings, evaluating machining methods on assignments and occasionally instructing other toolmakers and apprentices in the operation and setup of tool room equipment.
  • Computing dimensions; determining machining and material or parts required. Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Solving problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production processes.

A well regarded and rapidly growing plastic injection molding custom manufacturing company is searching for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer.   The Manufacturing Automation Engineer is responsible for the improvement of the efficiency and the productivity of existing manufacturing systems (think PLC’s, robotics, etc.) in all manufacturing departments.  Duties also include; researching, recommending, and implementing technological advancements to ensure quality and operating improve efficiencies.

 In addition to an annual salary in the $65,000 to $75,000 range the company offers competitive benefits and relocation assistance.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. in Plastics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on plastics processing is desired, or Associate degree in Engineering with 10 years experience in automation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of; pick and place equipment,  robotics (i.e. Yushin and Whitman), PLC’s (e.g. Allen-Bradley), and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to supervise upgrades and retrofits to existing equipment.

The Maintenance Engineer provides; technical guidance and diagnostic capabilities to maximize production up-time on all plant machinery and equipment, interprets maintenance and reliability data by evaluating the data history, ensures the uninterrupted efficiency of production and plant operations, and manages and works on maintenance projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

•Completes mechanical repairs and maintenance of machinery and building

•Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery, using rags, brushes, and grease gun.

•Completes preventative maintenance on various equipment (e.g., blow molding machines).

•Maintains physical structure of establishment, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.

•Maintains records of maintenance completed on machines.

•Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.

•Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction to diagnose problem or repair machine.

•Dismantles defective machines (e.g., blow molding machine) and installs new or repaired parts (e.g., hydraulic valves), following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.

Injection Molding Maintenance/Tooling Technician – Spartanburg, SC

A leading plastic closure company is searching for a Tooling/Maintenance Technician reporting to the Plant Manager.

 

The key responsibilities for the Tooling/Maintenance Technician are as follows:

  • Initiates action for non-conformances related to mold condition or function
  • Maintaining the injection molds at a level that focuses on preservation and product quality at or better than production standards
  • Performing mold related services to schedule (dates due and duration of downtime)
  • Setting and pulling the molds in and out of the injection machines
  • Providing support to the maintenance and production departments as required

Skills

  • Competent in several of the following areas: reading blueprints, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine shop equipment, metal fabrication, mechanical principles and basic math. Geometry and trigonometry a plus

Plastic Blow Molding Maintenance Mechanic – Willowbrook, IL

An manufacturer of plastic blow molded products for the automotive industry and for consumers is searching for a first shift and a second shift Maintenance Mechanic.  The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that accumulator head blow machines continue to run smoothly and systems operate efficiently.  Complete mechanical repairs and maintenance of machinery and building.

Responsibilities:

 Inspect, operate and test accumulator head blow machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions, including:

∙Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and/or power tools.
