Director, Research and Development – New Brunswick, NJ


A leading global manufacturer of innovative food packaging products and solutions that designs, manufactures, and distributes a wide spectrum of packaging solutions for food distributors, restaurants & caterers, grocery stores, national food chains and consumer entertaining is searching for a Director of Research and Development.   The Director of Research and Development will be responsible for complete ownership of research and development projects involving materials, new products, and process and equipment opportunities leading to increased revenue and/or cost reductions.

• Extensive knowledge of plastics and how they are used in manufacturing and the market place.
• Direct experience with thermoplastics and additives in extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding.

Component Development Engineer – Troy, MI

Description The world leader in the manufacture of plastic automotive body components, and fuel systems is searching for a Component Development Engineer.  The Component Development Engineer will be responsible for the Design and Validation of Mechatronic (mechanical and electronic) Components in Fuel System and/or SCR systems. This includes; Application Projects (Sensors,  Actuators, including their housing, connectors, wiring and flange).

Component Development Engineer Responsibilities include:

  • Development of Components that he/she is in charge of, in relation with the Application Project team.
  • Analysis of Customers specifications for dedicated components.
  • Writing the Component Technical Specification (CTS) and validating the technical offers from the Suppliers, together with the Purchasing Dept.
  • Technical Responsible for components developments and validations by suppliers.
  • Technical Responsible for the components development and validations as assigned.
  • Definition and follow-up of components validation tests in front of the customers.
  • Contribution to the assembly process design as needed.
  • Analysis of Customer’s specifications and associated norms and standards for the component(s) he/she is in charge of.
  • Definition of the Deviation list for the components he/she is in charge of. (Critical Requirements List)
  • Writing the Components Technical Specifications (CTS)

Components Cost Management

  • Contributes to reaching the component target cost, and related costs of validation and development.
  • Elaborate on technical solutions for components cost reduction.

Technical Expertise Development

Injection Molding Program Manager – Rochester, NY

A proprietary injection molder of disposable lab ware is searching for a Injection Molding Program Manager to lead the development of lab ware products from initial idea, through approved design, procurement, process development, process verification, and successful implementation into manufacturing.

The Injection Molding Program Manager will be responsible for:

•Participating on cross functional project teams to develop and verify manufacturing processes.
•Presenting development results at technical reviews.
•Communicating effectively within team and to engineering management on process development progress.
•Completing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews of new product designs, determining process feasibility, development options, and reviewing process specifications and development plans with appropriate mold makers, contract manufacturers, prototyping services, equipment or other service suppliers.
•Selecting and specifying primary and secondary plastic processing equipment and then developing project capital, product cost requirements, and appropriation requests.
•Process development plans and equipment optimization activities utilizing; analytical tools, DOE methods, risk assessment, plastic part and mold design practices.
•Process Verification by conducting FAT, IQ, OQ and PQ qualifications for molds and/or equipment and molding processes.

In addition to working in a modern and collaborative new product development environment and an annual salary in the $90,000 to $120,000 range, the company offers competitive benefits.

Position Requirements:

BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Plastics Engineering with minimum 6 years experience in injection molding process development.

  • Experience with defining mold tooling, plastic resins and process equipment technical specifications for quotations, procurement and verification.
  • Experience with mold design, plastic design analysis tools, design of experiments (DOE) and scientific molding practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving methodology to identify root cause and implement solutions.
  • Experience with injection molding of life science, medical devices or laboratory products is preferred.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards, Lean manufacturing concepts and familiarization of FDA regulations desired.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings, solid models and mold flow comprehension. Proficiency in SolidWorks is a plus.
Injection Molding Processing Engineer


A leading global manufacturer of components and systems for internal combustion engines and peripherals is searching for a Plastic Injection Molding Process Engineer

Plastic Injection Molding Process Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Researches, develops, evaluates and improves new and existing manufacturing/injection molding process and parameters for new equipment, including robotics
  • Develops process and trouble shoots manufacturing/injection molding process problems
  • Reduces scrap and improves efficiency and cycle times
  • Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposals for integrating injection molding machinery and equipment into manufacturing process
  • Develops manufacturing cells, manufacturing aids and design of end of arm robotics tooling
  • Works to improve tooling changeovers
  • Reviews new tooling approval drawings and assists in the installation and start-up of new manufacturing/injection molding equipment/tooling
  • Writes/updates equipment condition tables, check sheets, operating standards and keeps master documents on file
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate the manufacturing/injection molding processes
  • Estimates cycle times on new production quotations
  • Supervision of injection mold operators and technicians


  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree in a technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience and/or training in injection molding
