Injection Molding Machine Service Technician – Working Remote

A rapidly growing plastic injection molding machine manufacturing company wants to hire a Service Technician to support that growth. The Service Technician will install and service plastic injection molding equipment and provide customer training support as necessary. The Service Technician needs to be located within one hour of a major Airport and will work remotely.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing injection molding machine installations.
  • Trouble shooting and repairing injection molding machines and robots including; conducting tests and inspections on all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic or software components.
  • Performing all safety checks on injection molding equipment.
  • Instructing customers on equipment and proper operation.
  • Assisting/advising customers via telephone, Zoom, or on site when technical difficulties arise.
  • Managing resolution of customer issues, including ordering and installation of replacement parts as necessary.
  • Providing follow up support to customers post resolution of technical issues.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service focus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and software components.
  • Plastic injection molding technical training and a minimum of five years progressive experience maintaining and repairing injection molding equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specification sheets.
  • Computer programming knowledge and/or experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.

Injection Molding Plant Maintenance Manager – Spartanburg, SC

A company that manufactures injection and compression molded caps and closures is searching for a Plant Maintenance Manager to lead the Plant Maintenance Department.  The Plant Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager.

Plant Maintenance Manager Responsibilities

  • Managing injection molding equipment maintenance, and mold tooling technicians.
  • Directing all Maintenance Personnel actions including; final selection of new hires, training, technical development, and performance.
  • Preparing the annual maintenance budget.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance/tooling work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury.
  • Initiating corrective action for non-conformances related to equipment and plant utilities.
  • Managing, optimizing, and maintaining machine, downstream equipment, and plant utilities to peak production levels to include
  • Defining and maintaining an effective inventory of spare parts.
  • Providing safety analysis of new & modified equipment/systems.
  • Overseeing the input of new equipment into the Preventive Maintenance Program (PM).

Plant Maintenance Manager Position Requirements

  • Ability to manage Maintenance Department supporting a fast-paced injection operation.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a plant manufacturing maintenance or related technical position.
  • A minimum of 2 years of injection molding experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Technical Degree preferred but not required.
  • Planning and organizing maintenance activities with an attention to detail.

  • Clean and perform scheduled inspection/PM on molds as required.
  • Must be able to use, engineering drawings and verbal instructions, with the ability to determine accurate and efficient methods for repairing molds.
  • Selects appropriate metals and materials. Layout work using precision instruments, shop mathematics and pertinent formulas.
